DOL Enforcement Update

The Kansas City Chapter invites you to attend it's June program, "DOL Enforcement Update" Thursday, June 28,  2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lidia's, 101 W. 2nd Street, Kansas City.

The enforcement update from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (DOL-EBSA) will focus on EBSA’s mission and investigation process.  Topics include:
  • Basic fiduciary responsibilities, bonding, and reporting and disclosure requirements of ERISA;
  • Monitoring plan investments and service providers;
  • Target Date Funds and QDIAs; and
  • EBSA’s current enforcement initiatives.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about DOL-EBSA.

Lee Gilgour, CEBS
Senior Investigator
U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), Kansas City Regional Office

 
Mr. Gilgour has been employed by EBSA’s enforcement division for the last 12 years. As an Investigator with EBSA, Mr. Gilgour has conducted over 120 civil and criminal investigations of employee benefit plans of all types.  He served as coordinator for the Kansas City region’s project on apprenticeship programs. Mr. Gilgour served on a detail to EBSA’s national office, working as a member of a start-up National Targeting Committee. He received the Secretary of Labor’s Exceptional Achievement Award in 2014 and 2017 for his work on apprenticeship programs and targeting, respectively.

Mr. Gilgour earned a B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, after which he served as a naval officer until 2004. In 2009, he completed a Master’s in Business Administration from Northwest Missouri State University.  Mr. Gilgour holds his GBA, RPA, and CEBS designations, and is a past President of the Kansas City Chapter of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (CEBS).
